Description:
Abstract:
Grizzly bear spring and denning habitat were originally drafted by the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks as part of the 'East Front Grizzly Bear Study, Final Report' (Aune, 1989). These polygons were then refined and redrafted by Don Godtel (Wildlife Biologist for the Lewis & Clark NF) on 1:63,360 scale maps and digitized by Lori Wollan using PC ARCINFO. There is one attribute associated with this dataset called BEAR HABITAT (formerly DATA). This field will have SPRING HABITAT, DENNING HABITAT, or NULL as a value. This area only includes the Rocky Mountain Ranger District, Lewis and Clark National Forest.
Purpose: For map display and analysing grizzly bear habitat.
